Kierlup, you do have a few options available. I looked at the pictures of your carbine and it is a composite since it has a MKIII action but a lockplate year that does not corespond to a MKIII. MKIII...

Have to agree that it looks really neat as is. It's up to you of course, but for my two cents I'd leave it as is. The re-stock looks to have been done with care. It's a very unique, very sharp piece.
